About the CD

CREDO ERGO SUM (Latin: Kray-Doh Air-Go Suum
meaning literally "I believe, therefore, I am") was completed on January 11, 2000.
It contains a collection of ideas I had been working on for several years. My ultimate
goal was to create an instrumental recording with a unique blend of emotional,
meaningful and enjoyable music. This CD was recorded, mixed and engineered
by me in a very small room in my Japanese house.

Bio: Shawn Harding
Age: 23

Experience: 10 Years, self-taught guitarist, bassist, recording engineer, and whatever
else I happen to be doing at the time.

Influences: Rush, Joe Satriani, Ottmar Liebert, Pink Floyd, Kitaro, etc.

History: I grew up in Atlanta, Tampa and Tallahassee, Florida. I was always interested
in music but never picked up an instrument until I turned 13. I then began to teach
myself theory from the Encyclopedia Britannica and any other book I could find in the
school library. Shortly after that, I became interested in bass and started giving guitar
lessons when I was 15. I recorded my first serious collection of music when I was 20
entitled Creations, and that experience has led me to record my second CD.

History: I spent the first part of my life moving from Oklahoma to Michigan to Arizona to Florida and finally ending up in Japan.

At age 19 I started a band named S.O.L. with a guitarist I knew and a good British drinking buddy of mine playing bass. We covered everything from old Van Halen to Megadeath and Metallica. We played extensively on the MCAS Iwakuni military base and in Hiroshima, quickly gaining notoriety.

In 1993, I parted waves with S.O.L. to find myself moving to Los Angeles the following year. In the two years I lived there, I helped form a couple of bands that defunked due to obsessive drug use by some of the members. Being fed up with LA I returned to Japan and started my current band, Sight Unseen, with my brother.

In 1997, I met up with Shawn in our local bar, Terry's. I started jamming with him as a side gig...and the rest they say is history.
